Guatemalan tenor.
Mario Chang studied in New York at the Juilliard School and was a member of the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program at the Metropolitan Opera. He also trained at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome under Renata Scotto. He won several prizes at the 2014 Operalia Competition.
He has sung several parts at the New York Met, including Nemorino, the Italian Tenor Der Rosenkavalier, Fourth Squire Parsifal and Arturo Lucia di Lammermoor. Additional appearances in the USA include Santa Fe (Edgardo, Rodolfo), Los Angeles (Rodolfo, Ismaele Nabucco), Washington (Alfredo), Atlanta (Alfredo).
In Europe he has worked at Frankfurt (Lensky, Duke of Mantua, Werther, Roberto Devereux, Rodolfo, Alfredo), Oslo (Duke of Mantua).
Concert engagements include Beethoven's 9th with the Los Angeles Philharmonic under Gustavo Dudamel.
