Zvetelina Vassileva trained at the Sofia Musical Academy and in Italy with Carlo Bergonzi. She made her stage debut at Sofia National Opera (Amelia Un ballo in maschera).
She has sung in Britain with the Royal Opera (Marenks, Desdemona); Scottish Opera (Leonora Il trovatore); Edinburgh Festival (title role Verdi's Giovanna d'Arco ) and in Ireland at the Wexford Festival (title role Fibich's Sárka).
Appearances in the USA include New York Met (Violetta); Cincinnatti (Mimì); Baltimore (Violetta); Houston (Yaroslavna Prince Igor, Tatyana); San Francisco (Leonora, Drusilla L'incoronazione di Poppea, Gorislava Ruslan and Lyudmila).
Other performances include Toronto (Violetta, Desdemona, Liù); Brussels (Judith Duke Bluebeard's Castle) and Berlin (Mimì).
