Christopher Gillett graduated from King's College, Cambridge, where he sang in the choir and read Economics and Music.

Career highlights include singing Roderigo in Otello at the Royal Opera House conducted by Carlos Kleiber.  He sang in Britten's War Requiem at the Teatro Colón, Buenos Aires.  At the BBC Proms he sang Henze's Voices with the London Sinfonietta and Oliver Knussen.

Appearances in Scotland include two tours with New Sadler's Wells Opera, singing lead roles in Gilbert & Sullivan operettas.  He also sang in a rare staging of Britten's Gloriana at Haddo House.  More recently he sang with Scottish Opera (Triquet Eugene Onegin).

Roles in the UK  include the Glyndebourne Festival, where he sang Valzacchi Der Rosenkavalier, which was also given a performance at the BBC Proms.  He also worked with Northern Ireland Opera (Altoum Turandot).

European appearances include Festival d'Aix en Provence (Snout A Midsummer Night's Dream, also at Beijing Music Festival);  La Monnaie Brussels (Beadle Bamford Sweeney Todd); Teatro Real Madrid Red Whiskers Billy Budd).

He created the part of Mr Lovelace in The Harlot's Progress by Iain Bell at the Teater an der Wien, Vienna.
