Born Toronto.

Canadian soprano.

Gillian Keith studied at McGill University, Montreal, then in London, at the Royal Academy of Music. She won the Kathleen Ferrier award in 1990, and continued her studies with Ian Partridge and Barbara Bonney.

Operatic appearances in Britain include Almeida Opera (Bellezza The Triumph of Time and Truth); ENO (Soprano in St John Passion); Classical Opera (Bastienne); Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment (Belinda Dido and Aeneas). She created the part of Diana (The Assassin Tree) at the Edinburgh Festival, repeated at the Royal Opera House Linbury Studio. Further Festival appearances include Tonina in Prima la musica e poi le parole.

She made her debut with Scottish Opera in 2003 as Woodbird in Siegfried, and returned for Amor (Orfeo ed Euridice).

In Canada, she has sung with Opera Atelier in Toronto (Papagena).
