English mezzo-soprano.
Fanny Harrison seems to have been a highly versatile performer. While she may have concentrated on the core mezzo repertoire, such as Azucena, Orsini and the Queen of the Gipsies, she seems to have been able to sing some soprano parts, including Arline in The Bohemian Girl. Her Rossini heroines should be for contralto, as written, but may well have followed contemporary practice and been adapted as soprano roles.
