Colin Murray Suggest updates
Scottish baritone.
Colin Murray, 24, is a baritone currently on the MMus vocal performance programme at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, studying with George Gordon. He was awarded the 2014/15 John Mather Rising Star Award from the John Mather Charitable Trust in support of his ongoing training. He is grateful for the support of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Trust in the continuation of his studies. He is also currently a choral scholar at Paisley Abbey.
Colin’s operatic experience most recently includes the roles of Bartolo in a Conservatoire production of Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, Tobia Mill in Rossini’s La Cambiale di Matrimonio with newly formed company Raucous Rossini and Speaker in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte at the Woodhouse Opera Festival.
In addition to this, Colin has performed in the chorus of Cavelleria Rusticana and Pagliacci (Woodhouse Opera Festival) and the Conservatoire productions of Clemenza di Tito, Die lustigen Weiber Nicolai, Die Zauberflöte and Betrothal in a Monastery. Future engagements include Tarabotto in Raucous Rossini's tour of L’Inganno Felice, touring Britain and Italy in July 2015
Colin now has a wide range of experience as a featured concert soloist. Recent and notable performances include Pilatus in Bach's St. John Passion and the baritone solos from Carmina Burana (Orff), Fauré Requiem, Eternal light Requiem (Goodall), Mozart Requiem, Petite Messe Solennelle (Rossini), Fantasia on Christmas Carols (Vaughan Williams) and Messiah Handel.
