With a vocal quality described as 'outstanding' (Lynne Dawson) and 'an obvious stage presence' (TyneOut review, Figaro 2014), soprano Aimee is delighted to join the Ayshire Opera Experience to perform in her home town of Ayr. A graduate of Glasgow University (MA Music with Hispanic Studies 1st class hons., MMus Musicology by research) and the Royal Northern College of Music (MMus Solo Performance with distinction), Aimee has since worked with companies including British Youth Opera, Wexford Festival Opera, Young Opera Venture, Focus Opera and Grange Park Opera; roles have included Susanna (Marriage of Figaro), Romilda (Serse), Second Niece (Peter Grimes), Carmen (Carmen), Alison (The Wandering Scholar) and an entertaining stint as a singing tree in Paul Bunyan. Awards while studying included the Stillie Bursary for Music and scholarships from the AHRC, Mario Lanza Foundation and South Square Trust. Aimee has extensive experience on the concert platform and also enjoys sharing her love of music through outreach work, most notably with Leeds Lieder and Jessie's Fund children's charity.
