The first revival of McVicar's excellent Rosenkavalier retained many of the fine performers from the opening, including Richard Armstrong in the pit. Notable newcomers included Manfred Hemm as a young and vigorous Ochs, Henriette Bonde-Hansen as Sophie and Leah Marian Jones as Annina. Peter Bronder's Tenor sounded superb and was wonderfully arrogant in demeanour - he was made up to look almost froglike, and could have walked into a performance of Toad of Toad Hall.
