On 17 November 2011, Donald Runnicles conducted the BBC SSO in a selection of highlights from Der Rosenkavalier, the much loved opera by Richard Strauss, in Glasgow's City Halls.  The concert was filmed, with the camera focusing entirely on Runnicles as he led the orchestra and a trio of international singers through this sumptuous score.

This was a unique opportunity to see the film, with Donald Runnicles's own recorded commentary offering his thoughts on the music, a player's eye view of the concert and a second-by-second insight into the conductor's craft.
