The Edinburgh Evening News was rather impressed by this cast of Mignon. "Rarely have poetry and music been wedded so harmoniously as in Mignon. In the hands of second-rate artistes, the opera can hardly fail to be interesting. When staged and rendered as it was in the Lyceum Theatre last night, it became at once imposing and impressive."
