Linda Esther Gray gives a welcome masterclass.
The famous Scottish dramatic soprano began her career with Scottish Opera in roles by Mozart (Countess, Donna Elvira), Britten (Miss Jessel) and Strauss (Ariadne). She quickly moved on to Wagner, singing Eva in David Pountney's famous Meistersinger staging.
She later sang Isolde with Welsh National and Brünnhilde with ENO.
Her recordings include Wagner's Die Feen under Wolfgang Sawallisch and Tristan und Isolde under Reginald Goodall.
