An evening of excerpts from the operas of Richard Strauss.  The two most familiar works are Ariadne auf Naxos in the first part and Der Rosenkavalier after the interval.  The first half is completed with music from the later Arabella, a beautifully lyrical work which has, amazingly, never yet been performed in Scotland.
