Handel's dramatic cantatas from his early Italian period are little known today. Some of the material was recycled into later works composed in Britain. The overall quality is superb.
John Butt and his Dunedin Consort could be relied on to present this work beautifully in the Queen's Hall, with a trio of useful soloists still little known in Scotland.
