In an admirable venture, the well-known conductor and musician Edward Caswell has co-created Scotland's newest opera company. Cromarty Youth Opera fills a gap he identified after he and his family moved to the Cromarty area a year ago.
Their inaugural work, Noye's Fludde, is chosen in homage to Benjamin Britten's centenary. The part of Noah will be sung by Andy McTaggart who is on the Emerging Artists' scheme at Scottish Opera.
Edward Caswell has been chorus master of the Philharmonia Chorus in London and works with the Netherlands Radio Choir and the North German Radio Choir. He has also worked at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and is a long-time collaborator of the celebrated Scottish classical composer and conductor James Macmillan. Click here for details
